'Come on, Reba,' Axel muttered, 'You can't drive. What good will putting a bullet in my head do?'
He was right, so I put a bullet in the window instead, sending glass shards into Axel's arm. 'Don't underestimate me.'

IF YOU LET A CHILD BE A CHILD / YOU AIN'T DOING HER NO FAVORS IN THE END

NAME REBA ALLISON WINTER

GENDER F • SHE/HER

ORIENTATION BISEXUAL

AGE 15 • JUN 04 2005

SPECIES ESPEON • FLAREON

BUILD 5'6 • 99 LBS
Ever since getting out of that house, Reba's never had issues with getting what she wants — provided she doesn't want money or food, or god forbid, stable housing. Her fierce, snappy attitude unnerves the bulkiest of thugs. Not to mention how good she is with a handgun. Out on the streets, she can't be vulnerable. Not that far off from how it was at home. Reba hasn't considered anyone close in years. But that's alright— she doesn't need that. Or, that's what Reba always tells herself. Even after finding her crime lord brother again.

AM I THE SOLDIER THAT YOU WANT ME TO BE?

The Winter siblings were born entirely through their mother's various drunk accidents. Blair was a faulty condom, Axel was revenge on an ex that went too far, and Reba was concieved... non-consensually. Their mother brought a new man home every week, and gulped down wine when she didn't. Things were fine when she was sober, usually, but she was never sober. Under the influence, her favorite pastime was yelling at the siblings for the smallest little things, hitting them when they made one mistake, or even when they didn't. Everyone in that house was hurting, and it all came to a crescendo when Reba attempted suicide on her 13th birthday. However, she decided against it at the last minute.
That's when she heard the yelling! Reba quickly untied the rope and ducked under a window, as she was outside. From what she could hear, her siblings, both transgender, had just come out to her mother. When she heard the vase shatter, she dashed out of there.
Upon running away, Reba dashed to a friend's house, only for their parent to not allow her to stay, in fear of the legal consequences. She got a fake birth certificate -- courtesy of the same friend's parent whom she manipulated -- and a fake ID soon after. According to her files, she's Allison Summer, 21 years old. Her demeanor changed drastically after getting away. She went from obedient and polite to her current ... indescribable self. Did I mention she got an ear pierced?
Anyways... after Reba got her forged ID, she got on the first bus to a place she didn't recognize. Snowstorm, Capwich. Matches the surname, eh?
She stumbled into a place named Hiver Café, where she met a lonely barista named October. October gave her the general rundown of what it was like to live in Snowstorm — expect to get flashed, don't carry too much money, always bring a gun, you get the gist. She was the one who gave Reba her first gun. October didn't tell her how to use it, which was probably the reason Reba had so many near-death experiences in her first few months as a Capwich resident. It's a wonder she's still alive.
Two years later, Reba was trying to fall asleep in the warehouse she usually crashed in for the night, when Blair pointed a gun to her head.
She panicked, and immediately shot Blair in the chest, knocking xem out. In her frenzy, she managed to call 911 and book it the fuck out of there. The following day, Reba got caught in the annual avalanche trying to get a meal. She fell into a casino, where none other than Axel found her. What are the chances..?
Reba didn't trust him at first, even if she did accept the invitation to his organized crime shtick, and did take a bedroom in his luxurious (by her standards) headquarters. She still tries to keep her distance. You never know, after all.

AND IF YOU'RE GUILT, THEN I'M THE SHAME / AND IF I'M HURT, THEN YOU'RE THE BLAME

DESIGN NOTES

  • Reba's hair is like a fringe thing.

  • Reba's forehead gem is shaped more like a pillow than an oval.

  • She is not wearing glasses.

  • She sometimes wears a bloodstained hat. I never draw it, but I put it on her human form to give her more pizazz and I'm growing on the idea.

  • Her split tail isn't that important. I forget it myself half the time.

  • Don't give her large breasts or curvy hips. This girl is lucky to get a slice of bread for dinner on a good day.

  • Pawpads can be bright red or soft pink. I'm indecisive.

TRIVIA

  • Reba helps run Axel's crime syndicate, the East Coast Disasters. Because of how much of a control freak she is, Reba has slowly overtaken it.

  • Ever since she heard the vase break, Reba looks like a deer in headlights whenever something brittle shatters.

  • Reba bursts into tears laughing whenever she's scared. It started as a crutch to use whenever a teacher asked about her home life, but now it's a whole thing.

  • She knows it's often wildly impractical, but Reba prefers close-range weapons like baseball bats and knives to pistols and rifles.

  • Reba's favorite color is blue. When she was little, it was yellow, but after Reba gained a stable enough living situation to think about colors again, it felt like it didn't fit anymore.

LIKES

  • Rock music. When Reba was out on the streets and barely eating half the time, she kind of just missed having a heavy soundtrack to think about her life to.

  • Fistfighting. There's nothing quite like a good scuffle to get Reba's adrenaline up. She's tried drugs and motorbiking off cliffs and even cutting herself, but nothing ever topped sore knuckles, blood on her jeans, and standing over your opponent like 'You want some more?!'

  • Cold weather. It ran in the family, after all, and Reba absolutely HATES that she loves the cold because it ties her to her mother, to Blair, but disliking the cold didn't go well with the whole tough-girl thing, so she's just accepted that she IS a Winter who loves the cold.

DISLIKES

  • Taking breaks. Reba used to tell people her middle name was Relentless, and by God, was she gonna live up to it. There's also the little problem that whenever she stops moving, she spirals into the mindset she was in when she was thirteen and about to kill herself.

  • Her own birthday. It brings about memories of her family and the night before her thirteenth. She picks a lot of fights in early June. If she's bloodied everyone in town, sometimes she resorts to drinking.

  • Alcohol. Her mother was addicted, and it ruined her life, and by extension, Reba's life. She hates the taste of beer, but it makes birthdays hurt a little less so Reba supposes it's fine to stoop down to her mother's level. Not like she was hovering that far above it anyway.

ALL MY LIFE, I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING / SOMETHING NEVER COMES, NEVER LEADS TO NOTHING

Reba has the easiest relationship with her brother, Axel, which is saying something considering how complicated their relationship is. She heard him get so mad he outed himself and Blair to Mom, and she heard him throw the vase to the floor, all while Axel was convinced she was dead, or at least never to be seen again. They're overly possessive of each other, now. Reba wants to control every action Axel takes, and he wants to control everywhere she goes. They care about each other, at least. That's more than Reba can say about anyone else.

Reba hates Blair. Plain and simple, is what she tells herself, but it isn't, and it never was. Reba was always closer to Axel, but she held a certain fondness for Blair too, all the way from birth to sometime when she was 14. Then, Blair showed up in their gang territory and threatened to turn them over to the cops, in the most annoying, condescending way possible, and Reba smacked that grin off xer face and told xem to leave or she would use a bullet next. Blair thought xe could 'fix' her, 'rehabilitate' her, xe must've thought xe was hot shit, in that beige trench coat! The nerve.

Reba befriended the dubiously corporal October the day she ended up in Snowstorm, Capwich, after stumbling into Hiver Cafe. October called her 'fresh meat' and ruffled her hair like she was five, but void let her bunk in the staff room and gave her her first pistol, and that was enough for Reba. She still wonders why void gave her the gun so willingly, as if she wasn't afraid that Reba would use it on her. Reba still comes to the cafe, because it's a good place with good bread, whenever she can afford it.
